Dr. Steven Gabel is a triple board-certified surgeon in Hair Restoration, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology with 16 years of practicing hair restoration.

He specializes in state-of-the-art microscopic ultra-refined follicular unit grafting to achieve the finest results in the field of hair restoration surgery, in fact he is the most experienced surgeon of the Follicular Unit Excision method (FUE Method) in the entire Northwest, with his first surgery dating back to 2004, when that method was still in its infancy. Overall he has been performing hair transplants and restoration surgeries since 2001.

Dr. Gabel is committed to quality, not quantity. He only performs one transplant a day to completely focus his attention on that patient. All consultations are conducted by Dr. Gabel personally, allowing patients to discuss their goals, expectations, and desires directly with him from the start and he does not employ salesmen or consultants.

Dr. Gabel is currently a director on the board of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgeons. He is also a selected member of both the prestigious Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians and the International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons and is the only physician in the U.S. Northwest who has been invited to join these prestigious organizations. In addition in 2017, he was awarded the James E. Arnold, MD Award for highest score on the national hair restoration board exams.

Dr.Gabel attended and graduated from Loyola University Of Chicago, Stritch School Of Medicine in 1995, and has over 23 years of diverse experience. He is affiliated with several hospitals including Tuality Community Hospital, and Cornell Surgical Center.

Dr. Gabel not only works hard, but plays hard too, and is an instrument rated commercial pilot, certified scuba diver, and has competed in the Ironman triathlon in Arizona.

The Gabel Center is located just 20 minutes from Portland, Oregon, and was custom-built to meet the needs of hair loss patients in the Pacific Northwest.
